We are not a Codfish.

But apparently we are, because we can't seem to keep our mouth shut in pictures! In defense of myself, I've gotten sick, again, and after a week or so I finally feel as though I can dress like a human being again. I'm still facing the challenge of blowing my nose while wearing lipstick (it's second in difficulty only to putting a shirt on while wearing lipstick--which SEEMS like an easy thing to do, but not so much when you're in a fitting room. Or maybe that's just me) but I've got to stop feeling sorry for myself and get back into blogging regularly again!

Jeans: Gap, Shoes: H&M, Socks: Haven't the foggiest, Shirt/Sweater/Hairthing: J.Crew
(Kater, you should have ironed that shirt.)

Instead of blogging, I've been doing things like working (all the time), being obsessed with eyebrows (Michelle Dockery's), listening to new music (Florence), buying books but not reading them (Mindy Kaling's new book), and grumbling about the weather (it SNOWED, on HALLOWEEN. I was sick as a dog anyway, but the whole thing was really insulting).

I also bought the above shoes, even though I really do not need another pair of oxfords/brogues. But I've been meaning to wear something like this for ages, and things were just the right mixture that day for me to buy them. There are certain times when I can go ages without buying anything, when nothing feels right, and then one day I'm in a totally different mood and open to everything.

I also have a lot anxiety about things. Actual things, not the vague, cryptic kind of things but honest-to-goodness objects. Suddenly these kinds of shoes are everywhere, and I love them, and we are perfect together in all their many incarnations, but what if they go away? What happens when I wear them out? I will be left heartbroken. It is good planning and forward thinking to buy them up now.

I know just what you mean about brogues being everywhere. At some point in the future they will all disappear and then what will we wear?!

I always think about buying two of everything I love in case the first thing gets worn out/broken/lost. You look really pretty in these pictures xx

Oh yes, trying things on in dressing rooms while wearing bright lipstick is a scary thing indeed...though at least it must be easier than being one of those fake tan/foundation face girls who seem to leave their orange marking on everything they try on...

I have the same fear, of wearing out my oxfords and not being able to find more. Stockpiling doesn't sound like that bad of an idea... Also, I love the striped socks. So cute!

I've been wearing a lot of collared shirts under sweaters lately and thinking of ways to wear my own cream colored oxfords. Great ideas :)

I used to constantly get sick until I started having one Dannon yogurt drink a day. I didn't believe it at first but I haven't been really sick for quite some time now. Maybe you should try it? They're called DanActive. One a day for about a week and you'll be feeling better, promise.

Hey, great make-up: your brows look cool, what'd you do to them?? I know what you mean about sickness setting you back, I've already had two colds this season, so annoying!!

P.S. I mentioned you here, if you care to check it out: http://cakesandshakes.wordpress.com/2011/10/26/my-personal-blog-oscars/

I agree with others here that it is best to stow away extras of your favorite treasures for future use. Not very good for the wallet, but in the long run wont it even out since you wont be buying it then? haha oh the troubles we fashion lovers face...

In case you don't read it enough, "You're style is amazing." I especially love the socks (if only you remembered) with your top; spots and stripes. Thanks for having such a lovely blog!

I love that line from Mary Poppins! What a lovely outfit, your jumper is such a great colour. I always get lipstick on tops, especially when they're white/beige, how typical.. Now following :) xx

I'm just noticing your striped socks; I love them! xx

Best. Jumper. Colour. Ever.

I wish I could pull off this yellow, but with my so-white-it's-nearly-blue British complexion and hair, I just look like I have jaundice. Love it on you, splendid!

(Also, your name means tomcat in German. Which is awesome. I'm sure you knew that though, or at least had it pointed out before. I think it is also slang for a hangover, too. NERD FACT ALERT.)

Happy Thursday from a new blog fan!

I have the same worry, of dressed in out my oxfords and not being able to discover more. Stockpiling doesn't audio like that bad of an concept... Also, I really like the candy striped footwear.

Hey, I really love those jeans- are they vintage Gap or is this a thing one can actually attain with relative ease?
