We're in blissful weather now, cool in the mornings with promises of jacket-shedding weather in afternoons, sunny and puddle-less. In no time the trees and bushes will be all a-haze with buds making noses run with allergies, but I can hardly care.
Today was exactly the kind of day I always hope to have. Besides the weather that was cooperative and lovely, I spent it walking around town gathering things like small flower bunches (from a store with a little corgi leaping with joy in the window) and books that I never intend to really read, but can't leave behind because the typography and designs on the spine are too gorgeous to leave behind.

My hair has faded quite a bit, it's almost back to my normal color, and I'm left with decisions to make about my appointment next week. Do I keep the auburn or go back to identifying with Snow White and return to dark locks? Honestly, I'll probably try the reddish hue again, because it's something I've become a little bit fond of even if I don't always feel myself with it.

Also (atrocious way to start a sentence, let along a paragraph), do you ever have days where your outfit looks truly the way you always hoped it would in person, only to have it photograph less-than-perfectly? I suppose it's what people mean by 'editorial' when used in terms of describing outfits, or something. Somehow, probably because of the edible color of the skirt, nothing seemed to come out exactly representing how it felt to wear it in life.
Oh well. I can't be too irritable about it, since I ended up peeling off my tights in the car. My legs, free at last, have never been so happy in the sun.

ReplyDeleteThose lyrics are from one of my favorite songs! Have you heard it? It's amazing, kind of eerie, and unlike anything else!
ReplyDelete1)What a wonderful day!
ReplyDelete2)I start most of my sentences with also. Or so. Or and. I know the last one is wretched, but I like it. Quite conversational.
3) I am always having outfits that I feel photograph horribly. I usually chock it up to my amateur photography skills, though I really hope it is the editorial thing.
That skirt looks amazing on you! That color cant be pulled off by many.
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is gorg btw! ;]
Love the colour scheme and the mustard scalloped kerchief. I wish I had the patience and skill to do cat's eyes makeup everyday. Sigh

hopeless romantic: Blogger doesn't let me see your profile, so hopefully you'll see this! I might do a post on it someday, but I feel I might have blogged about it before!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, in this post I'm wearing Revlon's 'Coral', but I just smudged it on with my finger for something more sheer. Normally I use Nars 'Heat Wave' and 'Funny Face'. Those are my favorites! I've really become a huge convert to Nars lipstick :D
that seems like the most perfect day in the world ^_^ and I love the snow white colour palette of your outfit xxx

I know what you mean about photos not coming out the same as how you feel! It happens to me from time to time taking my own outfit photos and it's so terribly frustrating. The flower shop with the dog sounds adorable... I've been buying flowers lately too.
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty. I really like that skirt, it's such a nice red and it suits you very well.
ReplyDeleteI love your little fox pin and your scarf! It's amazing what a few good accessories will do for an outfit! Your making me want to dig out my denim jacket too!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking adorable, as always.
ReplyDeleteI know the exact perfect feeling of bare legs; I wore shorts today for the first time this year. It was lovely. :)
You may not think that the outfit photographed as well as you would have liked, but I think you look gorgeous! And that bunch of flowers you have, beautiful. Makes me want to go get some fresh flowers right now!

ReplyDeletesuch a lovely outfit - that skirt suits you so well! Polly x
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your skirt.
ReplyDeleteHalf the time when I take outfit photos, I find either a stain or some terrible wrinkling and wonder how I wore that in public.
I think your entire outfit is great, but your yellow scarf is just something else! I think it kind of ties the whole outfit together.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You have the lovliest blog that I have ever seen!
pretty! I love the first picture :)
ReplyDeleteMi asignatura pendiente es aprender inglés, pero como me he pasado treinta años ejerciendo de ama de casa, ahí ha quedado. Lástima.

Also ( ;) ) your outfit looks great! I have those days too, when it just doesn't photograph the way you want it to. Always a bit disappointing.

ReplyDeleteI love ranunculus! They are such beautiful flowers - they are my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go - I thought it was such a beautiful and heartbreaking portrait. What did you think of it?
