It's not here yet, spring, and even the chipperest people around these parts are dragging themselves across the pavement, trying desperately to leave coats behind. You can see here that the little piles of snow have melted (which is partly why I went back to this spot for pictures) but every news outlet, tweet, and facebook update is warning that we're going to get more on Friday.

I've been living in this striped dress since I bought it. I remember seeing it in the J. Crew catalog and pining over it (even though I don't really like the zippers on the sides) until finally prancing across the hall in the mall when I saw it hanging on a rack in the front of the store. My grubby little hands were not to be separated from it and it came home with me even though that was weeks and weeks before any appropriate temperatures were going to surface.

And of course, there is my funny trench. I've been looking in every single store I walk by to try and find a classic trench, but have yet to find my trench-mate. The ones I end up liking are always $200 or upwards, which does not fit into my little world's budget!

Meet my little fox friend! He is another Zentall pin that my mother got in a lot with the seahorse gentleman, and I love having him about the world with me. He's very fantastic.

ReplyDeleteThat fox pin is wonderful. As is the dress!
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing we had longer lasting springs where I live. It's just keeps getting hotter and hotter. I think Arizona is through with spring this year, and even by AZ norms it's early. Too hot!
It seems like everyone across the country is aching for spring... at least everyone in the northern half of the country! It's been much sunnier in Chicago lately, but the temps are just not catching up yet. At least with tights like that you can start wearing cute stripey spring dresses a little early :)
ReplyDeleteYour shoes and little fox are quite adorable!

ReplyDeleteThe fox pin is brilliant! I have a little, white rabbit one but I don't wear it that often...I probably should. xxx
ReplyDeleteThat dress suits you so well and I think, although your trench is not a classic one, it has exactly the right lenght and shape to be worn over a dress like that!

The J. Crew dress was a true success. Also, I found my classic trench coat at a thrift store-- and it's perfect! Never underestimate the thrift store's powers. I would try there if you can!
ReplyDeleteWow I love this outfit. The dress and the coat are gorgeous.

Your flats are the best...love thoses little flowers on the toes :) Your dress is lovely...I am constantly pining over everyhing in the JCrew catalog :)
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute on your lapel. I love wearing pins and things, even though it seems like mainly only old ladies wear them. I work in a mall, so I end up walking by J. Crew at least every day. The only things I own from there were thrifted though. Because inevitably, I'm a college student working at the mall... But it's unhealthy for it to be poised right there at the mall entrance!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress. And love the lipstick.
