Dresses off, Pants on.

Part of there reason outfit posts got sparse there for a second is that I've been dressing with purpose less often. I was so stuck in winter doldrums, and now that it's spring and my closet is (makeshift--I don't have a real-life closet) burgeoning with little dresses I'm trying to wait till it gets really honest-to-goodness (second most overused phrase of mine) warm out.

Most of the time I end up in something like what's above. Not all the time, but if I have to run around on errands and the weather is touchy, or if I'm exhausted from any number of things, I toss on some crisp jeans, a favorite t-shirt (I have two of this one--in different sizes--and I toss it on when I honestly have no idea what else to wear), and a ridiculous cardigan. The usual bow is tossed in my hair--I need to have at least one thing be just a little bit fussy or I feel too usual, casual, background.

But in the interest of documenting real-life (maybe not real-life, but rather documenting other little moments of life clothes) clothes, here is my slightly more every-day outfit.

  4. The every day out fit is a breath of fresh air. You've put together an outfit, and then proceeded to take pictures vs. putting a cute outfit together to take pictures. Not that the latter is bad!!

And I totally agree, can't wait until it's honestly WARM outside, and not freezing indoors.

  7. I completely understand! I tried to wear just jeans and a t-shirt the other day and I somehow felt shorter and frumpy.

  9. Thanks everyone :D You are all too lovely for words <33

Katrina: It's Conor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band--I believe you can still get them on the website--I've seen them a few times and bought the same shirt each time because I wear it so often! My boyfriend has the same one and we have to call each other to make sure we don't wear it on the same day :)

  11. I concur about the one fussy item to doll up a casual ensemble a smidge.

  17. I think this outfit is still lovely, and I kind of like seeing you in something that seems more like what I end up wearing, rather than all these beautiful dresses! I absolutely love that cardigan, and love how you've rolled your jeans up with the bare ankles and brogues. If I ever wear jeans I feel horrifically boring, but just by doing that you manage to make them look really quirky and not boring at all.

  28. I find winter often makes it hard to dress with purpose. I'm often very disappointed with how blah I end up looking.

nice pictures. Where is that t-shirt from. I thought for a moment it was threadless but it probably isn't. :)
