In addition to lots of stripes, I've also taken to wearing a cloth ribbon in my hair. It's floppy and sort of bedraggled in the most perfect way. I've been snagging lengths of it at work to tie my hair back or up, but I suspect I may have to find a roll of it for myself so I might tie little ribbons all over everything. It adds just the little bit of primness that I need and can't seem to do without.
makes me think of a little princess! have you ever slept with your hair in rags? it almost looks like the sweetest forgotten last rag.
ReplyDelete(also simple silly sidenote, the former editor in me can't help but notice "in the perfect day" should be "way")
I've been doing that too, I think it's really cute, I got the idea from you Kater!!
ReplyDeletejulia: I tend to favor pincurls to rags--my hair holds the curl better I find, and I somehow have a much harder time actually setting rag curls! I can pincurl much faster!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up :D I'm the worst little English student, always leaving mistakes, o dear, so embarrassing!
*Bedraggled* Oh how lovely a word to pick! Tis an adorable look and it sounds like so much fun. I'd like a ribbon my self sometime.
ReplyDeletethats so cute!

wow you have such lovely looks for your hair, why am I so lazy? haha
ReplyDeleteAww, you look adorable!
ReplyDeleteme too! For the past three months any piece of cloth thats thin has gone directly into my hair...tied at the end of a braid, wrapped through a bun, or just pin as a bow to the top.
ReplyDeleteAlso gotten into the habit of pinning flowers into it...and old broches and jewel pins. Try it, they hold just fine as long as your hair isn't too thin, and it doesn't look like yours is. (:
So cute-but if I did that, it would fall out! I'm horrible with keeping clips and pins to stay up in my hair.
ReplyDeletei've started wearing a single bobby pin in the side of my hair.
ReplyDeletesometimes its the little things!
Kater, (I love that your name is Kater by the way! My name is Kate and people in Australia always call me kater! :)) I love your stripe shirt and that bow. Your blog is so so lovely! :) So happy I found it!
ReplyDeleteIf Chloƫ Sevigny and Zooey Deschanel somehow made love and gave birth, you would be the resulting angel.
ReplyDeleteUtter perfection - I love the loose, slightly bedraggled nature of your cute little ribbon. Like it got snagged on a branch during a sunlit country stroll.
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and adore it. :)
I do this too! :D I have rolls and rolls of ribbons, plus a pretty large collection of bow headbands and bow hairclips. I actually can't remember the last time I went out WITHOUT a bow of some sort in my hair! They're just so cute! :D

ReplyDeleteKim: of course :D Haha, I eat at work, but when in Saratoga, you know. I really like the turkey & gruyere sandwich, & I actually prefer their fruit tart (<3 pastry cream, not so much a fan of vanilla custard). Plus, Titanic lamps!
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes and the bow! So wonderful.

This season has swayed me towards hair accessories I'd normally scoff at-like silk flower headbands. I even like the ones at Target. I have no idea what's gotten into me...
ReplyDeleteIn any event, it seems that someone who works in a cake shop should always have ribbons in her hair. Cuteness.
