Hello, October!

Hello October! You are my favorite, with your leaves and chilly winds and the best holiday ever, even better than my birthday.


(I don't know where this came from. Someone sent it to me and said, "This is you," and basically, it is. A cat, wearing a scarf, reading something, and drinking tea.)

  5. You are so right. Tweeds and plaids and wool are my main fashion reasons for loving this month. The reds, the oranges, the yellows. Rusty colors that are oh so warm. How can anyone dislike it?

  11. That list is beautifully strategic, everything goes together, cold noses, hot chocolate, plaid! Just like this season, it's cold, but everything fits together. What a lovely quote too! It's made my day quite cheerful, and I love it when requote a quote :P

  15. A Jane Austen Quote! I love October too. Its John Keat's Birthday on Halloween. Or so my boyfriend tells me. Yay for October! You have a very nice blog. and coming from a former twenty-something now thirty-something I am glad you are excited to be called so.

  18. October is my favorite, too! Lately, I've been having a rough time adjusting to the cold, but once I'm actually prepared with scarves and sweaters and gloves and the whole shebang, I like it a lot. Really lovely post. I saw that Sart picture ages ago and still can't get over it.

  29. Its the October's winter parentage that has forced me to imagine in my dream(at 2 am in the morning!) that the distress I was feeling was maybe due to some code not working properly on Puppy Linux!(weird as dreams are, and as false as they come, it just broke as i suddenly awoke)
    Turns out its nothing that fancy. Its just the cold winds of the hour filling the bedroom and ceiling fan adding to temp drop, which has caused my congenital inflammatory patches in the mucous lining of the nasal cavity to flare up and become harbingers of that great unique pain and throbbing of a Cold which only I seem to have on the planet (has happened for the millionth time now)
    Had to get up and make a hot cuppa tea with ginger at this odd planetary hour. Took an anti-allergic although I have no idea why anti-allergics like CPM work when the symptoms have been brought on by the "coldness" of temp, or rather lack of "hot blood" as someone from last century might say.

    Welcome winter. But I love the weather otherwise.
