"I was full, too, of that deep emotional energy that springs naturally with youthful beauty - my heart full of it and hurting and not knowing where to direct itself. There is a snapshot taken of me just about this time: it shows me in a short white dress standing in front of a large lime-tree at the back of the house. You can see in this picture a young, eager-looking girl with a smile on her face; but what you cannot see or hear or feel are the millions of delicate blossoms, the surge of bees in them and the scented honey-dew falling on my hair and on my hands and on the brown summer grass. What this photograph does not show is the dreaming, urgent creature behind the gaiety and beauty. It does not show how that young girl of twenty-two felt, dreaming and in love with herself and rather foolishly conscious of having a soul."

I adore the flower in your hair.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely quote, this is one of my favorite outfits of yours - just lovely!
ReplyDeleteQuote and photos matched with such perfection. I love your reflection shot. Somehow the angles make it seem like there might really be two of you...

ReplyDeleteGreat flower! I love the grey sweatshirt.
ReplyDeleteThe alteration was pretty easy and I think it looks much better than before.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and it hits me at a pretty good spot since my height is pretty average. They dyeing was easy as well. If you consider it (especially for the forever21 dress) I can tell you how it went.
So pretty today, that heather grey is fabulous dressed up.
ReplyDeleteLovely this sweat and the vintage romantic dress.
ReplyDeleteKind of like your post about 'the palest legs in all the land'(I daresay mine could rival yours!) this has that gorgeous romantic air about it that just seems so natural to you. I love your photos.
